Baby Owlbear!

I've been needle felting again. This time I made a baby owlbear (from the D&D monster manual for those with a slightly lower nerd rating 😉). A post shared by Kashcah Dreams of Crofting (@kashcahdreamsofcrofting) on Aug 15, 2018 at 7:24am PDT

Here’s our story, sad but true…

Two weeks ago at about this time I was standing in Schiphol airport waiting to board the plane home. I had one last, quick look at email and saw there was one from our solicitors dealing with the purchase of Rose Cottage. I’d been in meetings all day and had missed a couple of calls…

Six on Saturday #3

For this week’s six on Saturday (it is still Saturday right?) I decided to do a quick macro study of leaves. Found some pretty good stuff outside and two from inside. Thanks again to The Propagator for Six on Saturday

Limbo

I need some silver for the ferryman! We’re seriously stuck in limbo at the moment. Formal offers are in play in both directions and there’s not a damn thing that we can do to progress either of them. The buyer for our house is supposedly in the process of putting her house on the market…

Isle of May Trip

This boat trip has been on my wish list for a while now. We tried to go last year but the sailing was cancelled due to weather/water conditions. This year the weather was perfect! Sunny day, cool wind and no haar! Even though the weather was kind the North Sea is not for the faint…

Homebuilding & Renovating Show

A few weekends ago we returned to the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, this time in Glasgow. Last year we had attended when we were in early planning stages, still wondering if we could actually do this. Ahhhh, we were so young, with such stars in our eyes! This year’s experience was very much different, we…

My very late June nature board. Looking around the garden it felt like Sophie’s Choice because so much is at it’s peak at the moment so I’ve done a dog walk edition of the nature board this month. There are a few local walks we frequent, this is from a short walk that’s very close to the house. I think next month I’ll go for findings from a longer walk that’s further afield. Clockwise from the top left (my best guesses, let me know if you know any by a different name): Maidenhair Spleenwort Dog-rose Common Thisle Elderflower Milk Thistle Pyrethrum Daisy Red Clover Tiny pinecones This was definitely the most painful nature board yet…those spines! Ouch!
